A Little About Caleb

Caleb...was born June 7th, 1992 just a little more than a month early...I was given drugs with the hope of stopping or at least slowing the labor down and steroids to help mature his lungs. 26 hours later out he came. He ended up spending about 5 days in the NICU due to respiratory distress. It is sad when you are sent home without your baby...but he got excellent care and came home a healthy newborn. What a sweet baby...laid back, easy going, always smiling. He loved his beewoo (Blue) Binky (pacifier) and it was rare to see him without it. He went through a period of time where he would not eat anything but peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches...or as he called "butter and judy"...it worried me a little but his doctor told me to just give him vitamins and not to worry. In front of people Caleb would play quietly and just smile...but when it was just us...he turned into Mr Silly...singing, dancing, making up stories and games to play...he was especially funny when he wasn't aware that he was being watched. With each of the kids we had our one on one time together....for Caleb and I...and that time was late at night...snuggled up and watching Scooby Doo...or as he called it "GumbyDoo". Caleb is affectionately known in our family as "the informer" ..he felt it was his job to let us know what everyone else was doing (tattle-tell)...especially his sister. His sentences usually began with "Guess what."Today Caleb is pretty much the same kid. Friendly, kind and ever the devoted comedian. He loves to walk behind us or anyone for that matter making what we affectionately call "the face" He does this to make his class mates and his sister laugh…he does it in stores when my back is turned. *sigh* He is the boy who forgets that I have just mopped and runs across the room in his muddy sneakers…..*OH sorry mom*….who brings all the white clothes from the floor of his bedroom just as I am taking the last load of clothes out of the dryer. He goes to bed early and wakes up early...even on the weekend. He is a strong, average student, a member of the high school band, an outstanding Alto and Tenor Saxophonist and is currently learning the piano . He enjoys video games...especially Rock Band, paintball wars with his friends, and texting on his cell phone.
