The 8th Grade Banquet

Well despite the problems finding a dress and the hurtful words of the boutique employee...Shelby's 8th grade banquet was a huge success. She had fun..and she felt beautiful. Here are a few photo's taken while getting ready and before the event.

  1. I went back and read your post about looking for the dress - and I was appalled. We work with specialty retailers (a lot of our clients are small boutiques) and her behavior was inexcusable. If the owners of the boutique found out how you were treated, she would have been fired on the spot.

As for the dress - IT IS GORGEOUS. I love it! Green is my favorite color and that dress is just...Wow! Shelby is a beautiful young woman, and she looks beautiful in the dress! I'm so glad she had a good time at the banquet.

  2. Oh Monica!! She looks so pretty!! Love that dress and the color! I have done the dress search with 3 daughters, and it def. isn't easy to find something they like that is affordable. You did a great job!!

I'm so glad to hear that she had a really good time. I always sweated that part with my girls, too, because it seemed like several times they didn't enjoy themselves. Made me think...what a waste of energy and money, but I'm sure they learned from it.

Oh well, parenting isn't easy especially navigating through the teen years with a daughter!! I've got one more to see through it with, and then I'm done!! Let's pray for each other, ok??? :)

Hope your week is shaping up nicely. I'm still a bit high from my weekend with hubby--too perfect for words!!

    Love ya, sweetie!!
