A Stroll Down Memory Lane

This morning as I watched Shelby leave for her first day as a Sophomore in high school...I was reminded of her first day as a first grader. Even though she really wanted to...I didn't allow her to ride the bus in Kindergarten. But, that year, with the help of her dad...she managed to talk me into letting her ride the bus home in the afternoon. I was so nervous as I stood out there waiting for the bus to arrive. Finally, the bus rounded the curve, and stopped in front of our house. The look on her face was priceless. She couldn't wait to tell me that she had made a friend, and had her phone number on her hand. So we went inside, I gave her the phone, and helped her dial the number. She had forgotten one very important detail.

"Uh....Um... hello...is KID there?" She had the right number...but she forgot to ask her new friend for her name.

  1. OH MONICA! I know all about all of those "firsts"! Still having them with Maddy and can hardly stand it! You think after doing this 3 times already I'd be over it! But it is almost getting HARDER!!

What a cute story about the bus! I remember how excited I was to ride the bus the first time. What was that...about a century ago??!! LOL!

Hope you're having a lovely week, gal!
    Love and hugs,
    Becky

  2. I love the bus story. Our kids grow up so fast. I wish you could have met Kristen too. She was so sweet. Thank you for always being so kind. I just might need that shoulder to cry on.
