Feathered Visitors

These little cuties have been showing up in my backyard lately. I'm not sure what kind of birds they are...but they are almost tame. They let me get very close...and when I do get close...theydon't fly away
they just kind of hop away. Some of them have the bright lemon yellow belly and the others a have just a light yellow but mostly gray belly
I am pretty sure the bright yellow would be the males...since male birds are usually prettier than the females. They are happy, tiny birds that sing a pretty little tune.
.
There are many birds that choose to stay here in Southeast, Texas for the Winter months...but I don't think that I have ever seen these little guys before.

  2. They are certainly beautiful. :) Did you take these pictures yourself? If so, I'm quite impressed that you were able to capture the image before they flew away. Lol.

I got my tattoo...I should say tattoo's because it started out as two long stem roses on the side of my leg.. and then I went back a couple of years later and he wrapped them around my ankle.
It's time for another but I just haven't decided what I want yet.

  8. Hi Monica

I believe they are yellow finches. We have them in the winter here. They turn the brightest most beautiful lemon yellow in the Spring--right before they leave. :-( Their very favorite thing to eat is niger seed. I buy it in the little nets and hang them on branches.

Hope you are continuing to recover nicely!
